The commercial law firm BUSE is further expanding its Hamburg office and strengthening its advisory services in tax, banking and property law. Philipp Knoke joins the tax team as a new partner. The firm has also gained another partner in Lutz Tiedemann, who specialises in banking and capital markets law as well as commercial and corporate law. Dr Jan Greve has been appointed as a partner in the property law team.

Reinforcement in tax law

Philipp Knoke is a solicitor, tax adviser and specialist in international tax law. He has been advising family businesses and high-net-worth individuals on national and international structuring for over 20 years and is often the main point of contact for his clients, even on matters beyond tax and legal issues. A key focus of his work is on integrated corporate structuring and succession solutions that also take family aspects into account. In addition, he has extensive experience in corporate and real estate transactions, as well as in tax court proceedings and criminal tax law.

Expansion in banking and corporate law

Lutz Tiedemann is a solicitor and specialist in banking and capital markets law, as well as commercial and corporate law. He advises companies, in particular credit institutions and underwriters, on matters relating to liability, regulatory and corporate law. His practice focuses on international clients and cross-border matters, particularly in relation to Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark. He has particular expertise in handling class actions and mass litigation, as well as in the field of digital assets and crypto-assets. In addition to his legal practice, he is the managing director of a custodian under the German Investment Fund Act (KAGB).

Appointment as Partner in Real Estate Law

Dr Jan Greve is a solicitor and specialist in construction and architectural law and has been with BUSE for several years. He advises on property project developments and transactions, as well as on construction, architectural and commercial tenancy law. A key focus of his work lies in the drafting and negotiation of construction, planning and purchase contracts, providing advice throughout the construction process, and legal project management. Furthermore, he represents clients in litigation and possesses extensive experience in procedural law.

Strengthening the partnership

“Philipp Knoke brings a practice-oriented combination of technical expertise, business acumen and an understanding of clients’ personal and family circumstances. He thus adds an important additional perspective to the existing tax team, which focuses on structuring and transaction advice for medium-sized companies. Lutz Tiedemann ideally expands our advisory portfolio in corporate and financial regulatory law, as well as in the area of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies,” reports Dr Jan Tibor Lelley, Chairman of the Partners’ Council, adding: “Dr Jan Greve has distinguished himself through high-quality advice and exceptional commitment; his appointment as a partner is more than deserved. We are delighted to see our firm’s partnership strengthened.”
