Dr Dagmar Waldzus is a partner at the Hamburg office and has been working as a lawyer specializing in corporate and distribution law since 1997.
In the field of distribution law with a focus on antitrust law as well as licensing and franchise law, Dr Waldzus advises licensors and franchisors on the preparation and drafting of (master) licensing and franchise agreements. She prepares and reviews the related contractual documentation and supports both start-up companies and already established (globally operating) franchise systems in setting up, developing, structuring, expanding and optimizing their franchise organization.
In the area of Corporate Law/M&A, Dr Waldzus specializes in transaction support and advice. She supports companies in all corporate law matters, in particular in restructuring, in connection with domestic and foreign joint venture investments and in relation to compliance issues.
Dr Waldzus also speaks regularly on franchise and distribution law topics at (international) conferences of the IBA, the IFA, the DFI (German Franchise Institute) and the DFV (German Franchise Association). In the Juve Handbook of German Commercial Law Firms she is recognized for her expertise in corporate and distribution law (“one of the most distinguished lawyers in distribution law”, Juve 2016/17).
She has also been listed for several years in “Who’s Who Legal” as a franchise expert for Germany (“highly sought after by clients for her first-rate work handling licensing and franchising matters…”, Who’s Who Legal Germany 2018, Franchise).
