CDM Smith Europe GmbH becomes an SE.

Bochum / Düsseldorf. BUSE law firm has advised CDM Smith Europe GmbH on its change of legal form into a Societas Europaea (SE). CDM Smith SE is the parent company of the European CDM Smith companies, which are part of a globally active engineering and construction company group with around 5,000 employees worldwide. CDM Smith is active in the business fields of water, environment, infrastructure, energy, structures and geotechnics. The spectrum of construction projects ranges from improving waste management in Jordan, for example, to transport infrastructure, flood protection and water supply and disposal. Intelligent methods for digital construction such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) or environmentally friendly methods such as artificial ground freezing for difficult building ground are used.

CDM Smith’s customers include industry, commerce and public sector clients.

Since a change of legal form into a European Company is only reserved for public limited companies (Aktiengesellschaften), CDM Smith SE was established by a consecutive change of legal form.

The corporate lawyers Lars Roßner and Thomas Draguhn have already advised and implemented a large number of SE foundations. Now, for the first time, they have also advised a company from the engineering and construction sector on its way to becoming a European Company, CDM Smith SE.
